CWE-347  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade libssh to version 0.11.5, 0.12.1 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Improper Verification of Cryptographic Signature due to incorrect AES-GCM finalization checks in builds using the OpenSSL backend. An attacker can alter transmitted plaintext data without detection by exploiting the lack of proper integrity verification in the aes128-gcm@openssh.com and aes256-gcm@openssh.com ciphers.

Workaround

This vulnerability can be mitigated by disabling the aes128-gcm@openssh.com and aes256-gcm@openssh.com ciphers.
