CWE-913  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

There is no fixed version for lxqt/pcmanfm-qt.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Improper Control of Dynamically-Managed Code Resources via the org.freedesktop.FileManager1.ShowFolders D-Bus method when a regular file's path is provided as a URI. An attacker can execute arbitrary code or bypass network namespace restrictions by crafting a malicious D-Bus call that causes the application to delegate handling to another program without user confirmation.

Note:

This issue is disputed by the vendor with the following statement: "those outcomes are potentially unwanted by most users; however, the behavior of the product does comply with the applicable specification, and a simplistic solution (ensuring that the URI does not name a regular file) may have adverse consequences for I/O."
