CVE-2022-24051  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-134  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade MariaDB/server to version 10.2.42, 10.3.33, 10.4.23, 10.5.14, 10.6.6, 10.7.2, 10.8.1 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Arbitrary Code Execution via the processing of SQL queries. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of a user-supplied string before using it as a format specifier, which in turn allows a mallicious actor to exploit this vulnerability to escalate privileges and execute code in the context of the service account running MariaDB.
