CVE-2022-24052  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-122  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade MariaDB/server to version 10.2.42, 10.3.33, 10.4.23, 10.5.14, 10.6.6, 10.7.2, 10.8.1 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Heap-based Buffer Overflow via the processing of SQL queries. The lack of proper validation of the length of user-supplied data prior to copying it to a fixed-length heap-based buffer allows an adversary to exploit this vulnerability to escalate privileges and execute arbitrary code in the context of the service account running MariaDB.
