CWE-400  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

There is no fixed version for Mbed-TLS/mbedtls.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Uncontrolled Resource Consumption ('Resource Exhaustion') due to the improper reset of the SSL context by the mbedtls_ssl_session_reset API, which fails to restore the maximum TLS version to be negotiated to the configured one. An attacker could exploit this to prevent a server from establishing any TLS 1.3 connections, potentially leading to a Denial of Service or forcing a version downgrade from TLS 1.3 to TLS 1.2.
