Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to NULL Pointer Dereference in the pusb_is_loginctl_local function when parsing the output of loginctl due to improper handling of an empty Remote field. An attacker can cause the authenticating process to crash by triggering a situation where the Remote field is only a newline, leading to a NULL pointer dereference.
