Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Improper Certificate Validation when TLS is configured with certain options that are known to be secure on other platforms. When TLS is enabled and the server is started without a configured --tlsCAFile / net.tls.CAFile, the server may skip peer certificate validation entirely. An attacker can exploit this by establishing TLS connections using untrusted or invalid certificates, allowing connections that should have been rejected and reducing the security guarantees normally provided by TLS.
