CVE-2026-13072  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-122  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade mongodb to version 7.0.39, 8.0.28, 8.2.12, 8.3.7 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Heap-based Buffer Overflow in the aggregation pipeline process due to insufficient validation of externally sourced BSON data. An attacker can cause memory corruption, potentially resulting in process termination or other unintended behavior by supplying crafted external data. This is only exploitable if compute mode is enabled on a standalone instance at startup.
