Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Reachable Assertion through the iApp message dispatcher when processing incoming E2AP messages that are not included in the 9-entry whitelist. An attacker can cause the termination of the entire RIC service and disconnect all E2 Nodes and xApps by sending a specially crafted E2AP PDU to trigger a reachable assertion, resulting in a process crash via SIGABRT.
