Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Improper Authentication via the xapp_id field in E42 message payloads, which is not properly bound to the sender's SCTP association. An attacker can impersonate any xApp by specifying their xapp_id in requests sent to the iApp, leading to misrouted responses and potentially causing crashes or state inconsistencies in the victim xApp, the RIC, or the iApp itself.
