Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Out-of-bounds Read in the SUBSCRIBE process. An attacker can cause the broker to accept malformed packets and perform an out-of-bounds read by sending specially crafted MQTT v5 SUBSCRIBE packets that omit the required Subscription Options field. This can lead to the installation of invalid subscriptions and may result in a heap-buffer-overflow if the packet is constructed to cross the heap allocation boundary.
