Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Missing Release of Memory after Effective Lifetime in the crypto_handle_incrementing_nontransmitted_counter() function in crypto_tc.c. An attacker can cause resource exhaustion and degraded system performance over time by exploiting the improper memory management where memory allocated using malloc is not always freed.
