CVE-2025-48990  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-122  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade nekernel-org/nekernel to version 0.0.3 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Heap-based Buffer Overflow via the rt_copy_memory function. An attacker can corrupt memory and potentially execute arbitrary code by exploiting the buffer overflow condition where a null terminator is written beyond the allocated buffer space.

Note: This is only exploitable if the length of the destination buffer is exactly 256 bytes, as this triggers the overflow.
