Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Heap-based Buffer Overflow in the handling of RFB protocol color map messages from a VNC server due to missing bounds checks on incoming color indices. An attacker can achieve remote code execution or cause a denial of service by sending crafted messages with out-of-range values to trigger an out-of-bounds write on the heap. This is only exploitable if the service is operating in vnc-any mode and prior to authentication.
