CVE-2026-60005  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-908  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade nginx to version 1.30.40, 1.31.3 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Use of Uninitialized Resource in the ngx_http_slice_module process when the slice directive is used with unnamed regex captures or during a background cache update. An attacker can access uninitialized memory, potentially disclosing sensitive information or causing a restart of the worker process by sending specially crafted requests. This is only exploitable if the ngx_http_slice_module is enabled with the --with-http_slice_module configuration parameter.
