Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling via the Create Session Request process when a crafted message is sent to the SMF (PGW-C) containing the IP address of a legitimate UE in the PAA field. An attacker can hijack session disrupt service availability by sending specially crafted network requests.

Workaround

Deploy secure tunnels for all PFCP and GTP-C signaling traffic—such as IPsec (IKEv2) or TLS/DTLS.
