CVE-2026-23893  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-59  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade opencryptoki/opencryptoki to version 3.27.0 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Symlink Attack via improper resolution of symbolic links before file access in the process. An attacker can gain unauthorized access to sensitive files or escalate privileges by planting symlinks in group-writable directories and leveraging administrative operations that change file ownership or permissions.

Note: This is only exploitable if a user with token-group membership can plant symlinks and an administrator subsequently runs a PKCS#11 application or administrative tool that performs chown on files inside the token directory during normal maintenance.

Workaround

This vulnerability can be mitigated by restricting membership of the token-group to only trusted administrators.
