Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Infinite loop in the cfIEEE1284NormalizeMakeModel function. An attacker can cause sustained CPU consumption by sending a specially crafted IEEE-1284 device ID with an empty model field over the network. This is only exploitable if the cups-browsed service is enabled.
This vulnerability can be mitigated by stopping the cups-browsed service or restricting untrusted networks from accessing the daemon.
