Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Out-of-bounds Read in the xmss_sign_open or xmssmt_sign_open process when a signature buffer of the expected size is provided, but the public key's OID references a parameter set with a larger signature size. An attacker can cause a crash of the verifying process by supplying a mismatched public key and signature buffer, potentially leading to denial of service.
