CVE-2026-34956  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-120  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade openvswitch to version 3.3.9, 3.4.6, 3.5.4, 3.6.3, 3.7.1 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Buffer Overflow via the FTP helpers process when configured over the userspace datapath. An attacker can cause a crash and disrupt service availability by sending a specially crafted FTP stream containing an EPASV command exceeding 255 characters. This is only exploitable if the system is specifically configured with FTP helpers over the userspace datapath, which is not enabled by default.

Workaround

This vulnerability can be mitigated by avoiding the use of alg=ftp flows.
