CVE-2026-32945  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-122  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade pjsip/pjproject to version 2.17 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Heap-based Buffer Overflow in the DNS parser when handling name length. An attacker can cause memory corruption or execute arbitrary code by sending specially crafted DNS responses to applications using the built-in DNS resolver. This is only exploitable if the application is configured to use the built-in DNS resolver via pjsua_config.nameserver or UaConfig.nameserver.

Workaround

This vulnerability can be mitigated by disabling DNS resolution in the configuration (setting nameserver_count to zero) or by using an external resolver implementation.
