CVE-2025-54566  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-642  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade qemu-project/qemu to version 10.1.0-rc2 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to External Control of Critical State Data via the pcie_sriov_pf_post_load() function, that unconditionally calls register_vfs() regardless of the VF Enable bit state, creating inconsistent internal state when VFs should not be enabled. An attacker can disrupt service availability by sending a malformed migration data stream.
