CVE-2016-7422  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-120  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade qemu-project/qemu to version 2.8.0 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Buffer Overflow. The virtqueue_map_desc function in hw/virtio/virtio.c in QEMU (aka Quick Emulator) allows local guest OS administrators to cause a denial of service (NULL pointer dereference and QEMU process crash) via a large I/O descriptor buffer length value.
