CWE-284  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade raspberrypi/rpi-imager to version 2.0.0-rc3 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Access Control Bypass due to the public-key authentication process unintentionally re-adding a user's id_rsa.pub key from the local machine to the authorized_keys file, even after explicit deletion through the user interface. An attacker can gain unauthorized access by leveraging a previously deleted key to log in to the device.

##Workaround

Open settings via key shorcut Shift +Option + X and delete all the keys. At least it is was working for me on MacOS.
