How to fix?

Upgrade redis/redis to version 6.2.19, 7.2.10, 7.4.5, 8.0.3 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Heap-based Buffer Overflow via the hyperloglog process. An attacker can execute arbitrary code or alter application data by submitting a specially crafted string to trigger an out-of-bounds write during hyperloglog operations.

Workaround

This vulnerability can be mitigated by restricting access to hyperloglog operations using ACL to prevent users from executing HLL commands.
