Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Integer Overflow or Wraparound via the mtar_next function. An attacker can cause the process to enter an infinite loop and consume excessive CPU resources by providing a specially crafted tar archive that manipulates the header size field to trigger an integer overflow.
