Overview
Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Time-of-check Time-of-use (TOCTOU) Race Condition in the UpdUtil process during addon installation. An attacker can execute arbitrary code with SYSTEM privileges by replacing files.cab in the %TEMP%\sandboxie-updater directory with a crafted cabinet file between hash verification and extraction, resulting in the execution of a malicious executable.
