CWE-287  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

There is no fixed version for shadow-maint/shadow.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Improper Authentication due to the default configuration of /etc/subuid. This configuration assigns a default range of subuids which can potentially conflict with user IDs on locally managed networks.

Note: It could also be argued that system administrators should avoid assigning UIDs within ranges that /etc/subuid might allocate.
