CWE-191  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade spiderlabs/modsecurity to version 3.0.15 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Integer Underflow (Wrap or Wraparound) in the @verifySSN, @verifyCPF, or @verifySVNR operators due to improper handling of unsigned integer values, which can result in an unhandled exception. An attacker can cause the application to crash by triggering an unsigned integer underflow through specially crafted input when these operators are used. This is only exploitable if a rule utilizing any of these operators is configured by the administrator.
