Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Out-of-bounds Read in the FTP gateway process. An attacker can access sensitive memory contents from other transactions by controlling an FTP server and making authenticated requests through the proxy. This is only exploitable if the attacker has a valid account on the proxy and can reach a malicious FTP server from the proxy.
This vulnerability can be mitigated by blocking FTP traffic at the proxy using specific configuration settings in the squid.conf file, or by restricting FTP access to trusted destination domains only.
