CWE-787  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade stedolan/jq to version 1.8.2 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Out-of-bounds Write in the jv_load_file process when handling files with --rawfile and assertion checks are disabled. An attacker can cause a heap buffer overflow by providing a specially crafted file that triggers an invalid state reuse after a "String too long" error, leading to out-of-bounds memory writes.
