CWE-416  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade systemd/systemd to version 240 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Use After Free due to the on_stream_io and dns_stream_complete functions in resolved-dns-stream.c not incrementing the reference counting for the DnsStream object. Therefore, other functions and callbacks called can dereference the DNSStream object, causing the use-after-free when the reference is still used later.
