Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Untrusted Search Path via the extension upgrade process when malicious functions are placed in user-writable schemas. An attacker can execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges by creating functions that shadow built-in ones, which are then invoked during the upgrade due to the search_path configuration.
