CVE-2026-23101  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-362  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade torvalds/linux to version 5.10.249, 5.15.199, 6.1.162, 6.6.122, 6.12.68, 6.18.8 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Concurrent Execution using Shared Resource with Improper Synchronization ('Race Condition') due to a race condition in the initialization process of the LED subsystem. An attacker can cause a system crash or trigger undefined behavior by exploiting the timing window where an LED is added to the leds_list before its initialization is complete, potentially leading to the queuing of uninitialized work.

Note: The Linux kernel project assigns a CVE to every bug fix it ships, whether or not the bug has been shown to be exploitable. This advisory was generated from that process and has not been individually assessed for exploitability. See the kernel's CVE process documentation: https://github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/master/Documentation/process/cve.rst
