CVE-2026-23407  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-787  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade torvalds/linux to version 5.10.253, 5.15.203, 6.1.169, 6.6.130, 6.12.77, 6.18.18, 6.19.8 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Out-of-Bounds in the verify_dfa function due to missing bounds checks on the DEFAULT_TABLE array. An attacker can cause out-of-bounds reads and writes in kernel memory by supplying a specially crafted AppArmor policy containing a malformed DFA structure. This may lead to kernel memory disclosure, memory corruption, privilege escalation, or denial of service.

Note: The Linux kernel project assigns a CVE to every bug fix it ships, whether or not the bug has been shown to be exploitable. This advisory was generated from that process and has not been individually assessed for exploitability. See the kernel's CVE process documentation: https://github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/master/Documentation/process/cve.rst
