CWE-200  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade torvalds/linux to version 5.10.257, 5.15.208, 6.1.174, 6.6.141, 6.12.91, 6.18.33, 7.0.10 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Information Exposure in the skb_has_shared_frag process. An attacker can gain unauthorized access to sensitive information, corrupt the page cache of root-owned read-only files, escalate privileges, or cause system instability by crafting network packets that exploit improper propagation of shared fragment markers during fragment transfer operations.

Note: The Linux kernel project assigns a CVE to every bug fix it ships, whether or not the bug has been shown to be exploitable. This advisory was generated from that process and has not been individually assessed for exploitability. See the kernel's CVE process documentation: https://github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/master/Documentation/process/cve.rst
