CVE-2026-46327  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-362  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade torvalds/linux to version 6.12.75, 6.16, 6.18.14, 6.19.4 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Concurrent Execution using Shared Resource with Improper Synchronization ('Race Condition') in the dm_blk_report_zones function due to an unlocked test for the suspended state of the device. An attacker can achieve kernel heap memory disclosure, arbitrary kernel memory writes, or cause a kernel panic by exploiting a race condition between concurrent zone reporting and device-mapper table activation or revalidation operations.

Note: The Linux kernel project assigns a CVE to every bug fix it ships, whether or not the bug has been shown to be exploitable. This advisory was generated from that process and has not been individually assessed for exploitability. See the kernel's CVE process documentation: https://github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/master/Documentation/process/cve.rst
