CVE-2026-46244  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-693  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade torvalds/linux to version 6.6.142, 6.12.92, 6.18.34, 7.0.11 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Protection Mechanism Failure in the nft_inner_parse_l2l3 process. An attacker can bypass firewall filtering and access protected internal services by sending crafted IPv6 packets with manipulated extension headers that cause a desynchronization between the calculated transport header offset and protocol identification.

Note: The Linux kernel project assigns a CVE to every bug fix it ships, whether or not the bug has been shown to be exploitable. This advisory was generated from that process and has not been individually assessed for exploitability. See the kernel's CVE process documentation: https://github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/master/Documentation/process/cve.rst
