CWE-123  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade torvalds/linux to version 5.10.257, 5.15.208, 6.1.174, 6.6.141, 6.12.91, 6.18.33, 7.0.10 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Write-what-where Condition in the skb_try_coalesce process. An attacker can achieve arbitrary code execution, memory disclosure, and system instability by manipulating shared fragments during packet coalescing, leading to in-place decryption and overwriting of page-cache-backed memory.

Note: The Linux kernel project assigns a CVE to every bug fix it ships, whether or not the bug has been shown to be exploitable. This advisory was generated from that process and has not been individually assessed for exploitability. See the kernel's CVE process documentation: https://github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/master/Documentation/process/cve.rst
