CVE-2026-53293  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-833  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade torvalds/linux to version 6.6.141, 6.11, 6.12, 6.12.91, 6.18.33, 7.0.10 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Deadlock due to improper management of synchronization primitives in the AMDGPU_INFO_READ_MMR_REG process. An attacker can cause a deadlock or denial of service by triggering specific operations that involve memory allocation and lock handling in the affected process.

Note: The Linux kernel project assigns a CVE to every bug fix it ships, whether or not the bug has been shown to be exploitable. This advisory was generated from that process and has not been individually assessed for exploitability. See the kernel's CVE process documentation: https://github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/master/Documentation/process/cve.rst
