CWE-119  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade torvalds/linux to version 5.15.209, 6.1.175, 6.6.142, 6.12.92, 6.18.34, 7.0.11 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Out-of-Bounds in the dc_process_dmub_aux_transfer_async function. An attacker can cause a stack buffer overflow or out-of-bounds memory access by supplying a crafted payload length or link index value. This can result in arbitrary code execution or kernel memory disclosure by exploiting improper validation of input parameters.

Note: The Linux kernel project assigns a CVE to every bug fix it ships, whether or not the bug has been shown to be exploitable. This advisory was generated from that process and has not been individually assessed for exploitability. See the kernel's CVE process documentation: https://github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/master/Documentation/process/cve.rst
