CWE-119  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade torvalds/linux to version 6.12.103, 6.18.44, 7.1.8 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Out-of-Bounds through improper validation of the iface_fw_to_cpu_addr process. An attacker can cause out-of-bounds kernel memory reads and writes by providing crafted firmware interface virtual addresses that point near the end of the shared section, leading to kernel memory disclosure, privilege escalation, or system crashes via malicious GPU ioctl submissions.

Note: The Linux kernel project assigns a CVE to every bug fix it ships, whether or not the bug has been shown to be exploitable. This advisory was generated from that process and has not been individually assessed for exploitability. See the kernel's CVE process documentation: https://github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/master/Documentation/process/cve.rst
