CVE-2026-74667  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-787  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade torvalds/linux to version 5.10.265, 5.15.216, 6.1.183, 6.6.152, 6.12.104, 6.18.45, 7.1.9 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Out-of-Bounds in the packet_parse_headers process. An attacker can read and write out-of-bounds kernel memory by transmitting specially crafted frames via a packet socket with PACKET_QDISC_BYPASS enabled, targeting network drivers that access the unset mac_header. This can result in kernel memory disclosure, data corruption, or system instability.

Note: The Linux kernel project assigns a CVE to every bug fix it ships, whether or not the bug has been shown to be exploitable. This advisory was generated from that process and has not been individually assessed for exploitability. See the kernel's CVE process documentation: https://github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/master/Documentation/process/cve.rst
