How to fix?

Upgrade torvalds/linux to version 6.1.188, 6.6.157, 6.12.110, 6.18.52, 7.2.6 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Use After Free in the bpf_find_vma process. An attacker can achieve arbitrary kernel memory read and write, as well as cause kernel panic or crash, by racing the freeing of a memory structure (mm_struct) in a child process while invoking BPF programs that access this memory. This is only exploitable if the attacker has CAP_PERFMON and CAP_BPF capabilities and can control both the BPF program execution and the lifecycle of the target process.

Note: The Linux kernel project assigns a CVE to every bug fix it ships, whether or not the bug has been shown to be exploitable. This advisory was generated from that process and has not been individually assessed for exploitability. See the kernel's CVE process documentation: https://github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/master/Documentation/process/cve.rst
