The probability is the direct output of the EPSS model, and conveys an overall sense of the threat of exploitation in the wild. The percentile measures the EPSS probability relative to all known EPSS scores. Note: This data is updated daily, relying on the latest available EPSS model version. Check out the EPSS documentation for more details.

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Buffer Overflow in the cros_ec_sensorhub_ring_handler process. An attacker can cause the kernel to read beyond the bounds of a heap-allocated buffer by manipulating the values returned from EC firmware, specifically by setting a large sensor_num and a small max_response, resulting in a mismatch between the expected and actual number of bytes read. This can lead to disclosure of sensitive kernel memory or a kernel crash when the overread accesses unmapped or poisoned memory. This is only exploitable if a compromised or malfunctioning EC firmware is present and able to send crafted responses to the host kernel.
Note: The Linux kernel project assigns a CVE to every bug fix it ships, whether or not the bug has been shown to be exploitable. This advisory was generated from that process and has not been individually assessed for exploitability. See the kernel's CVE process documentation: https://github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/master/Documentation/process/cve.rst
