CVE-2026-93238  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-457  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade torvalds/linux to version 6.6.157, 6.12.110, 6.18.51, 7.2.5 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Use of Uninitialized Variable in the vfio_ap_mdev_hot_plug_cfg process due to passing an uninitialized apm_filtered bitmap to reset_queues_for_apids. An attacker can trigger unintended guest hardware queue resets by manipulating hot plug configuration changes that add control domains without filtering adapters or domains.

Note: The Linux kernel project assigns a CVE to every bug fix it ships, whether or not the bug has been shown to be exploitable. This advisory was generated from that process and has not been individually assessed for exploitability. See the kernel's CVE process documentation: https://github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/master/Documentation/process/cve.rst
