How to fix?

Upgrade torvalds/linux to version 6.1.189, 6.6.158, 6.12.111, 6.18.53 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Buffer Overflow through improper validation of ROOT_REF and ROOT_BACKREF items in the btrfs tree-checker process. An attacker can achieve arbitrary kernel memory disclosure, overwrite neighboring heap objects, and potentially hijack control flow by crafting a malicious btrfs image with specifically structured items and mounting it locally, then invoking the relevant ioctl operations.

Note: The Linux kernel project assigns a CVE to every bug fix it ships, whether or not the bug has been shown to be exploitable. This advisory was generated from that process and has not been individually assessed for exploitability. See the kernel's CVE process documentation: https://github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/master/Documentation/process/cve.rst
