CVE-2026-93190  (opens in a new tab)
CWE-121  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade torvalds/linux to version 6.1.188, 6.6.157, 6.12.110, 6.18.52, 7.2.6 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Out-of-Bounds in the cros_typec_register_partner_pdos process. An attacker can achieve arbitrary code execution or cause a denial of service by supplying crafted source_cap_count or sink_cap_count values that exceed the expected maximum, leading to stack memory corruption during the memcpy operation from untrusted EC responses.

Note: The Linux kernel project assigns a CVE to every bug fix it ships, whether or not the bug has been shown to be exploitable. This advisory was generated from that process and has not been individually assessed for exploitability. See the kernel's CVE process documentation: https://github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/master/Documentation/process/cve.rst
