CWE-125  (opens in a new tab)

How to fix?

Upgrade torvalds/linux to version 5.10.270, 5.15.221, 6.1.188, 6.6.157, 6.12.110, 6.18.52, 7.2.6 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Out-of-Bounds in the smu7_patch_voltage_dependency_tables_with_lookup_table process. An attacker can read sensitive kernel memory and potentially cause a denial of service by supplying crafted PowerPlay tables with out-of-bounds vddInd or vddcInd indices via the sysfs pp_table interface.

Note: The Linux kernel project assigns a CVE to every bug fix it ships, whether or not the bug has been shown to be exploitable. This advisory was generated from that process and has not been individually assessed for exploitability. See the kernel's CVE process documentation: https://github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/master/Documentation/process/cve.rst
