How to fix?

Upgrade torvalds/linux to version 5.10.271, 5.15.222, 6.1.189, 6.6.158, 6.12.112, 6.18.54, 7.2.8 or higher.

Overview

Affected versions of this package are vulnerable to Concurrent Execution using Shared Resource with Improper Synchronization ('Race Condition') in the iwpm_get_nlmsg_request process. An attacker can cause memory corruption and potentially execute arbitrary code or crash the system by exploiting a race condition during reference count initialization, which leads to use-after-free and heap memory corruption when handling forged netlink replies. This is only exploitable if a local user has access to a NETLINK_RDMA socket and an iWARP device is present.

Note: The Linux kernel project assigns a CVE to every bug fix it ships, whether or not the bug has been shown to be exploitable. This advisory was generated from that process and has not been individually assessed for exploitability. See the kernel's CVE process documentation: https://github.com/torvalds/linux/blob/master/Documentation/process/cve.rst
